1999 Taittinger Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne - 96 points
This has really improved since I last had it in 2013. I find myself struggling to describe the experience. Intense, almost a liquid dessert, with honey, marzipan, ripe lemon, nectarine, lillies, brioche, custard and some smoke - excuberant, rich and joyfull, but also light and elegant, an almost weightless feeling, just a brush of cream, scented with the most lovley floral perfume - the pinacle of sophistication. A wonder of a wine, just at the beginning of its drinking window.

2006 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne - 94 points
Decanted for aprox. 40 min. Great bottle with absolutely no sign of p-ox. Has entered the first stage of maturity. Lovely yellow fruit, chalky minerals, good concentration, still lively acids, impeccable balance. Rich for a C-C. Very good lenght. Wines like this are the reason I drink white burgs.

2007 G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole - 94 points
My first bottle of this wine. Had it alongside its baby brother Barolo Albe of the same vintage. On the nose intense with masses of cruched fruit - cherries, strawberries - nailpolish, pine, liquorice and telltale cruched roses. Really intense! Gradually gets more nuanced but never loses that impressive punch. On the palate some spice, more nailpolish, violets, liquorice and lots of fruit. Finishes a bit more stringent with a noticable tannic bite. Very good lenght. Really lovely with a good future. I see no problem cellaring this for another 10+ years.

I last had this wine this past september and this second bottle is already on the next level, showing, not maturity, but a zen-like harmony - acid, fruit, energy and sweetness all in perfect balance - to be left in the cellar for as long as you like, but already a truly great wine.
