Vi hade lite otur med statistiskt onödigt många usla korkar. Hoppas på bättre viner i afton. Här är gårdagens heat:
2001 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River
Upon plop (cora vin):
Red, no bricking. Youngling.
Deep, dark aromatics with prominent asphalt and spices. Leather and cumin. Kerosene.
Young, living on it's fruit but still delicious. Makes you happy. Beautifully balanced with sprightly acidity and polished tannins. This is as elegant as a dark Oz wine can become. Beautiful!
1984 Wolf Blass Black Label
South Australia Cabernet-Shiraz Blend,
Red Blend
Upon plop: 91p
Blackish red with deep bricking. Towards brown.
The Australian take on Bassett's All Sorts, minty, coconut, asphalt, panfried eggs and many other things.
This is a lot to chew. Ridiculously rich and imposing. Long, complex and finishing with Oloroso overtones. Acidity slightly low. Tannins still boldly present.
After air: 79p
Glögg (glühwein) and Oloroso over coconut shavings. Not for me.
Low acidity and jolmigt.
1997 San Giorgio Brunello di Montalcino
Sangiovese
92 points
Upon plop (coravin):
Red with bricking.
Beautiful ”Italian cherry” bouquet with added pleasures of ground beef and blood.
Still a fruit-driven youngling over on the PHAT side of BdM. Plentiful tannins.
If you prefer youthful fruit, than this is for you.
2nd glass:
The tannic backbone is strong in this padawan. Superbly well made wine that needs another 10-20 years to be liberated from the fruity cloak.
1983 Château Gruaud Larose
St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend
flawed
Upon plop: (Coravin)
Light red with clear bricking.
A horse and a cow definitely walked by. Beautiful brett, barnyard, Bdx earth, sumi ink and autumn. An etheral lift. Iron and blood. Gun powder.
On the palate: this is an exceptionally amazing wine! Balanced, complex and in a very good place. Sporting cherries, medium acidity, nail polish, loads of leather, sumi ink, outstanding purity in an exceptional wine.
2nd glass:
Added aroma: Leverbiff och leverbiff. Panfried leek.
On the palate: god damn it… Ground liver patties. Maksapihvi. (Dog supply.)
I was really looking forward to this second glass, but no longer drinkable to sensitive me.
1985 Château Lascombes
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
82 points
Upon plop: 82 p
Brownish wine.
Aromas of a very dead wine: rotting apples and poorly homebrewn apple wine. Extremely terrible.
The palate is unexpecedly good. Good fruit, a backbone of tannins, short, rather thin, non-complex. Acidity in the lower register.
Apples, leather, Bdx-earth, sumi ink, hay, autumn…
After air: hurgel.
After decant and numerous Mollydooker shakes:
Helped a little bit, but far from enough.
1979 Domaine de Chevalier
Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend
87 points
On plop:
Red with clear bricking.
Disgustingly oxidised on the nose. Insmellably bad.
Per os: not bad at all. Sumi ink, olive brine, a bit of a horse, beautiful berries galore. Still has firm tannins, length and complexity to make and keep you happy.
Lovely!
After air: still terrible.
After decant: no improvement, possibly worse.
1997 Marlyse Chauvenet Pommard Les Noizons
Pinot Noir

On plop: 87 p
Light red with clear bricking.
Beautiful aromas of "mature Bgn".
Taste is also fine, but instead of an interesting structure, this is mainly a fruit ball.
After air:
Deeper and more rich aromatics. Raspberry jam as it’s being boiled, black currants and dissipating farmyard.
In the mouth this is superbly balanced and delicious. Rather faceless, but deeee-licious.
1978 Château L'Arrosée
St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend
84 points
Upon plop: 80p
Light red with slight (!) bricking.
Burned earth, a good dollop of Brett, a clear presence of CF. Bdx for sure.
First taste on plop: exceptionally bland, acidic, small, faceless wine.
After air:
Same beautiful aroma therapy.
In the mouth, it has widened and opened up. Warm, refined gentleman. Still short and lacking a bit of umpa umpa.
